Hole where torque converter is
I have this hole where the torque converter is, and wondering if it's supposed to be covered by anything?

Yes, there should be a black plastic plug. You can get it from the dealer, about $8.00 if I remember correctly. Don't have a part number handy, but you can find it on the EPC.

Part # 102 014 0033
Soak it in boiling water for about 15minutes so you don't crack it putting it on! It is somewhat a tight fit. |
Thanks ps2cho :)
Do you know how come it's missing? ie, they fall out easy? And is it dangerous not to have it there? |
They get brittle with age, then they crack and fall out. Not a big deal if it's not there, one of mine was missing for several months before I noticed. Best to have that hole covered though, prevents road debris flying up in there and fouling the ring gear.
