Gushing transmission + home mechanic

1997 320 E ‘s transmission (722.6) is leaking copious amounts of ATF from the cable actuated lockout that is located immediately to the drivers side and slightly above the transmissions output shaft. Appears to be while parked, mostly.

The accordion bellow seal is in place around the cable and looks good, any other seals for this part?

Only thing I notice other than the leak is that the plastic part between the transmission proper and the rubber bellows isn't exactly tight to the transmission. Is there by chance an o-ring between the two????

Fine points on whats there do not show on either my Mitchell or Benz manual for the transmission

Leak occurred after the dealer removed and replaced that transmission to address an engine seal. Dealer waaay overfilled the transmission. I've since drained sump and converter and refilled with 7 l of Benz ATF-134 after replacing filter.

Is this leaking transmission something I can tackle with the transmission in the car?

Any words of wisdom?

Kent
