Changing conduit connector 722.6 A/T

I changed the conduit connector (A 203 540 02 53) . The 2 parts of the connector don't seem to marry up like the old one I took off. I strggled for hours, but no luck.
Is there a treak to this?

You mean the end of the harness and the part that attaches to the trans? You can't plug in the harness?

correct in away. The harness is not fitting as snug as when I removed it to replace the
Part that fits into the trans. seems it should be flush with the trans part. I removed it twice to make sure the pins were protruding and once to see if I could line up the slots...

I can plug it in. I just can't get it as snug as it was when I removed the harness part. I can see the pins and I think the slots, etc are lined up, but when I turn the round plastic "lock thingy" it doesn't pull it as tight as I think it should be. I have not added fluid. I changed ATF and filter, too.

Try removing it, see how it works if it's not installed into the trans. Compare to the original part.

the problem usually is the new conduit connector.if you look there are guides so it goes in correctly and make sure that the 7mm bolt head is all the way in because that could cause your connector[wires] not to fit flush.

I got it on the second try today! :) Thanks to both of you.
