Your throttle is electric and is controlled by power not by the cable you see moving. You take the MAF off and underneath is the throttle. Should be closed or almost closed at first start and will open as you have someone press the throttle. What happens is the motor or the board inside becomes old and worn and stops doing everything it should. Just be happy you dont have the 93 with biodegradable wiring insulation as youd have alot more issues. If you have a split year tho you may want to look into the wiring as it went from 93-95.

The throttle actuator has internal wires. I think you missed that point. Wire harness goes up to it but the Throttle is a motorized unit for throttle. The linkage from the peddle doesnt do anything really.

I would suggest check the injectors, i had a huge dead spot in the pedal, my injectors were all gummed up. Replaced them, no more dead spots.

Yes, the caps and rotors are a little pricey, and the wires are downright ridiculous. However, the wires are of pretty good quality, and just the ends (tips) can be replaced. If you have an ohm meter, you can check for proper resistance. (sorry, don't remember that range).

The coils were repplaced you sure? Under the ABS pump assembly was a pain for me the first time. Took hours to get them both out and they were stamped 1992 in my 93 400E. Tells me they were original. The coil wires snapped in my hands as I pulled them off. I have the MB book that shows all that was dont but I can tell there is no way that happened. The plastic covers that cover the coils completely hide them especially when the intake hoses are installed behind the headlights.

Then I second the caps, rotors and wires. If you didnt do the wires when you did the coils you may have hurt the life of the coils. If there is too must resistance the coils will get hotter faster and cook themselves. There is no flow of air past them as the plastic from the headlights blocks that and the covers keep them covered. What they are bolted too is not a very good heat sink either.

I do hope you get it figured out, mine was in much worse shape I think than you are now 4 years ago when I got it. Took some time and money but hes doing pretty well as basket case cars go. Even my original Antenna works (with more time in it than doing all around brake job). Only thing that doesnt work as its supposed to is the driver side wiper motor for the most part. My amps for the stereo have a solder joint issue I have to look at but no biggie.
