W201 and W124 Blower motor the same?

I'm looking at a 1990 190E 2.6 (180K) for my daughter. So far I've spotted that the blower motor doesn't work and the belt tensioner needs to be replaced (has been welded in attempt to repair). It also has the standard front timing cover leak (not too bad), but the rear engine is dry and the coolant is clean with no signs of any oil in the [original?] coolant tank. To his knowledge (3rd owner, no records) it's never had a head gasket job. Very surprising to me.

With the blower not working I can't assess the condition of the climate control, or the heating system. So I was wanted to see if I could find out quickly if the W124's and W201's use the same unit. If no one is sure I'll just compare part numbers on the car part sites.

Any other notorious W201 problems I should check?

Thanks Billybob.
I looked at it again, this time when I started it and pressed the ACC buttons I heard at least some of the elec/vac doors shutting. A good sign I suppose. I put a fuse in the blower circuit and turned the fan switch to max. The fan came on (without any squealing), but the contacts got very hot and the fuse blew in a few seconds. At least from that I know the fan switch works and the fan can rotate (though either may still be the source of the short).
I also checked the spring perches (solid) and some of the front suspension rubber.
He's pressing me to make a decision but the one thing that's really keeping me from pulling the trigger is that he wants $2200 (down from $2500). That's still $500 more than the Blue Book price for that car in that condition.
One might reason that it would be prudent to pass and get one priced accordingly, but after scouring the area (Philadelphia/subs) there just aren't any around (that aren't run into the dirt).

I have to let him know tonight.

Very few young ladies like the climate controls on the older Mercedes. The W201 is not any better and winter is coming. That W201 would really need to be nice to pay more then $1,500. Good luck.
