'86 420 SEL Odometer Stopped
Hi, I got the cluster out and the speedometer out where I can check it. There is a small, clear plastic pinion gear on the right side, with all the teeth broken off and a large black plastic gear it meshes with, which has a few teeth broken off. I think I see how to access these gears and get them off, and I found a vendor who has replacment gears. Is there any advice or special knowledge I need before I proceed? I did confirm: if I turn the large black gear the odometer advances, and it turns easily and seems OK other than the two rotten, broken gears. Thanks!
