please help me ID this part
1 Attachment(s)
Trying to ID the part with multiple connector pins in the picture.
It's located behind the glove box on a 1987 560SL, I believe it to be the OEM connector for the radio. The car has a third party radio installed now. Am I correct? Or is it related to the auto alarm that comes with these cars? thanks dom |
That's the stock alaram.

thanks for the quick reply!
I wonder why PO disconnected it? I've always felt that car alarms are no deterrent to thieves so will probably not bother hooking it back up, I did find the connectors after I made the original posting. I use a locking device which goes around the brake pedal to secure the vehicle if needed, much more effective. :) |
He probably disabled it because it was acting up! If you do a search on alarms for chassis W126, you'll find that a lot of them had problems, especially earlier models.
The PO probably didn't want to repair it... just simply disabling it? |
