Question Extra pins on my NSS for '94 E320 Cabriolet??

I got a new Neutral Safety Switch and after I removed the "bad" switch I find the new switch has 2 extra pins.

Does the Cab have another interlock or unique NSS? I haven't seen any different part number

Was there a revision to exclude these pins?

BTW, I jumpered the NSS at the plug near the climate box and it starts. After removing the old switch, I should have tried to adjust it since it's designed to pivot. I'll go ahead and change the switch since it's likely as old as the car, 16 years. I just wonder the extra 2 pins are necessary...

2 Pins are not needed!

I looked at the plug and there are only 4 receptacles that match the new NSS so the two extra pins on the original NSS are not used...

Just installed the switch and my car starts properly again

Was just going to ask if there were connectors for those pins.
Would be interested in you testing those 2 pins to see if there is any activity when you run the old switch through it's range.

Pifcat2,
When you said you jumpered the NSS near the climate box, do you mean the 3-prong plug in the engine compartment opposite/near the brake booster? Thanks.
Rich
