w201 fuel pumps ...

I found a good wrecked 190e at the local bone yard. Would it be wise to
"harvest" the fuel pumps ? Would they still work if not exposed to gasoline
for some time? New pumps are pretty expensive ... any other parts to get that are hard to find/replace? My 190e has the original pumps,180k.
Thanks for any advice or comments !!!

first check and make sure it has two pumps and then harvest them.cars in salvage yards are required to drain fuel from tanks so they may be good.

W201 fuel pumps

You mentioned the donor W201 was wrecked so it's safe to assume it was in running condition before the crash , more than likely the fuel pumps are good. I did the same thing and swapped out the fuel pumps of my 190E Sportline only to find out my tranny was going south.

While you are at the junkyard, you should harvest all of the relays and other odds and ends that you may find useful.
