What is this???
So this has been this way ever since I got this 300E back in November of '09. It's vacuum lines that are all missing and cracked inside on the right fender, does anyone know what these are and what they are for?

I believe that one vacuum control solinoid is for your EGR system, and the other one is for your air pump bypass valve. I do not know about your state, but in California those missing/rotted out vacuum hoses are a gauranteed failure in a smog test, not too mention a large vaccuum leak for your engine.

What is this?
That is the area for the windshield fluid reservior on my 1989 300 E model.

WorkerUnit, if it's something to do with my EGR system then I defiantly would like to take a deeper look into it, I am having trouble with my EGR valve with cold starts maybe this could be responsible for some of the trouble? Smog wise though, it didn't effect my test when I got it smogged in California, she passed with flying colors. I even passed my Texas emissions test when she went through Texas state inspection about a month ago. That's true about the vacuum leak though...
bidog 2- Yeah, mine is up a little more by the coolant reservoir MBeige- Yeah she passed both California and Texas emissions tests with those like that, although I'd like to fix them eventually :D |
