Yeah, You gotta love it!
My guess...
Someone pulled the plug to see if there was a spark... My buddy says he saw the plug somewhere in the engine bay yesterday when we looked at it for the first time... but today it was missing!
Why the EZL plug was out... anyones guess.

I think I would try some emery paper or steal one of those things the wife uses to file down her claws before the screw driver...................
But then maybe the more aggressive approach works in certain situations.
Hmmmmm, thangs that make you go Hmmmmmmmm

reliability

For reliability you may l consider replacing the fuel accumulator ,all new fuses .new fuel pump relay and OVP. these are all age related wear and do cause problems at different times.

Merkey,

I know you and your son have torn these cars apart and then again. I was wondering if you knew anyone who would be brave enough to replace some of my tranny components that cajuse my issue. Do you live in So Cal? I live in Placentia near Fullerton. My car runs great but just jumps a little when put in drive or reverse. Maybe my idle is too high or something but I just don't have the equipment to work on it. After that, it shifts solid (maybe a little too solid?) and drives like a dream.

Thanks.

Steve

yeah, that was a horrible cap,the rotor appeared to have normal wear,im wondering about the plug missing and wire,i hope that the cylinder isnt having issues with air fule from a bad valve, maybe they took it out so the cylinder would just remain a dead cylinder, but even if they did, they could have kept the plug in to protect from any moisture, hey maybe the cylinder was flooding out and hydrolocking, who knows.thats great that you were able to clean it up,but id still throw in a new cap and rotor,if you havent already, due to the gap widdening from wear.sounds like a great car, good luck in the future, post anything you discover about that missing plug and wire.

We found the wire but not the plug.
No issues at all with the way it runs, in fact it runs better than all the other M103's we have
