75W-90 vs. 85W-90 gear oil
I can't find any 85W-90 gear oil at any of the local auto parts stores. Is it okay if I use 75W-90 as opposed to the 85W-90 that is recommended in the owner's manual?

I believe Mobil1 carries an 85W-90 synthetic gear oil that I bought at a local auto store in the US here. Not sure since you are in Canada, but maybe make a call around. That is what I am using.

Can't seem to find 85W-90 anywhere. Called around to a few shops and they have told me to use 75W-90. I haven't called the dealer yet but I can imagine they would want a substantial amount more $$$.

Actually they are somewhat reasonable. You can always order online. Sometimes stores have it online and you can pick it up in-store so check out the website for local auto part stores.

You will be fine with the 75/90.

That's what I figured. I'm going to put some synthetic Pennzoil or Castrol in.
