is there a way to adjust ignition timing 1992 300te
Can the ignition timing be adjusted or is it possible to get off/
|
No & no.
Why do you think you need to adjust the timing? |
Thank you for responding. I bought this car running poorly. Had the fuel distributor replaced with newer plus new injectors. Runs good when you stomp it and higher Rpm. Low rpm has no power. Starts easily and runs smooth but gets hot. Replaced radiator with no luck reducing heat. I believe the heat is related to poor performance. I have had a mechanic work on it but uncertain about it's current performance...he mentioned the timing also, but said it was not adjustable.
If it COULD be timing, I would say it's just retarded. QUESTION: is it possible for someone to have set the flywheel off? (timing sensor is on flywheel?) Thanks again for your input. |
The timing will stay extremely retarded if your throttle position switch is not working. It will maintain idle timing at all times through the load range. The engine will run hot, lose power and risk burning an exhaust valve. Have the mechanic check the TPS.

Thanks , I'll get on it !
