Non ethanol fuel
Here in Virginia we are graced with non ethanol fuel at many marina pumps. What, if any, advantages would there be to using it in my '88 560SEL? Octane rating is 89, a bit shy but without full blitz use will I see a performance/mileage increase?
Spoke with the distributor and he states that it the same as filling station gas with the exception that his source is not blending +/- 10% ethanol prior to delivery at his facility. In addition, the fuel is delivered with Valvtect additive package. Any thoughts on this as well? By the way, we are retailing this fuel at $3.00/gal which is competitive with retailers 92 RON at the street pumps. And imagine, 30+ gallons a minute flow rate at the nozzle! Nascar pit stops. ![]() Thanks |

I would ask if the road tax has been paid. Otherwise you might have a penalty increase. Might get away with it forever too.

Slightly better fuel economy, on the order of 2 or 3%.

Yes, road tax is indeed paid with a rebate for submission of receipts at tax time.
2-3% ain't much, but... what about the reduction in octane, should this be a major concern? |
