I own a 94 E320 with A/C problems.
Several months ago, had the blower motor, and the regulator switch replaced. After that AC was okay, but not great, but, eventually after 10-15 minutes the ac cooled the car. Now, it blows cool (not that cold, but cool), in the mornings, and hot in the afternoon. Took it to my shop, they said that I am low on freon, and that because of this, my auxillary fan doesn't come on. They said that, as long on my fan and monovalue are in working order, which should still be, to evacuate the system and recharge. Went down to Autozone, found a cheap r-134a rechrage kit with gauge included. They said all I have to do is hook up the kit and follow the easy instructions. Now, not sure if recharging is that, easy, tips and advice are welcomed. But, I don't know how to "evacuate the system". My shop recommended to evacuate the system for about 20 minutes, and then recharge. Would like to get the most out of the recharge as possible. How to evacuate, and recharge advice greatly appreciated! ![]() Thanks |
