valve stem seal replacement
Hello,
Anyone have a write on replacing valve stem seals? Looking for anyone who has replaced them without pulling the head. thanks dan |
you don't have to pull the head....but you need a compressor to keep the valves up...
i know there is a write up...... i used it to do mine..... i was never able to do the cylinder closest to the firewall... but i did do the job on two 103's |
Try this DIY from the resources section.

thanks for the replys, I think I will give it a shot

It is a band-aid fix at best if you already have leaking guides. A rebuilt head at a competent shop should run $250-350 and similar in parts for a new gasket, bolts, misc.

I tried it on my M103, total waste of my time.

Both my M103s great success. 260E used to use 1 quart every 200mi....now maybe 1/4 at best quart every 5k.
My wagon before I redid the head went from 1 quart every 500mi to 1 quart every 5k. |
