Parking Brake wont stay on... Release button stuck in..

My 190E's parking brake wont stay on... the button on the end is stuck in it seems.
Whats odd is that when I was at the Junk yard the other week, I saw 2 others with the same issue...
Anyone know what the prob is and how to fix it?

The handle part will start to slip off the lever itself, when it does this the push button on the end will seem shorter. It's not really getting shorter, the handle is just moving off the lever. the button is always in the same location. Try shoving the molded handle back.
