w124 coupe/cabrio sun visors

Are they interchangeable with the sedan visors?

reason I ask is that I had the top down today and I guess the passenger side vanity mirror cover decided to leave the car

replacement mirror lid for visor

No, not interchangeable. The visor body is smaller for Cab than visor for sedan.

However, the mirror/light/lid assembly IS the same for all visors. You can order a new assembly, remove the broken lid one you have now, and glue in the replacement. You need a color code. Part 129-810-23-17 xxxx. I have done this for my Cabriolet. The blue plastic is well known to break down or crack.

Call the forum sponsor to order- it is not listed online.

Also, the Cab visor is the same as the 129 SL visor, so you could look for a used one in the color you need.

i am planning on coming to lakeland next weekend.... do you want me to bring a visor with a mirror insert?

it's grey... but you can probably match it with paint...

cost: 0

our little club: priceless

TheDon 10-07-2010 06:48 PM

I'd appreciate it. The only hard part will be the visor since it has the print on it. I'll be at Lake Mirror. Just got my packet today

lee polowczuk 10-07-2010 07:02 PM

you lost the entire visor????? i am confused.... i thought you just lost the vanity mirror

TheDon 10-07-2010 07:10 PM

I lost the cover to the vanity mirror.

you can replace just the vanity cover part but the whole thing is usually FUBAR'd (and mine are) so the whole thing needs to be replaced.

lee polowczuk 10-07-2010 07:15 PM

i'm still confused but i am old

what if i just brought an entire gray visor that came out of a 1989 300ce...

that's the best i can do

TheDon 10-07-2010 07:17 PM

sure. I'll see what I can do with it.

lee polowczuk 10-07-2010 09:47 PM

ok....

Did you consider calling by phone this forum's sponsor?

I got them through buymbparts dot com just over a year ago; found the packing slip but not the invoice.

I would believe $310 for the complete sunvisor, but not for the mirror/light assembly alone.
