i having problems with my alternator shorting out. Any suggestions on why my alternator is shorting out. In two weeks i have gone thru 2 batteries and three alternators.

Where are you getting these alternators and are they Bosch or aftermarket?

aftermarket
both new alternators have been aftermarket. I'm using 80volts and just discovered the owners manual calls for 70. does this have an impact?

Higher voltage output is not the problem. There appears to be a short in the circuit somewhere.

cal, can you quickly explain the alternator circuit. Where it starts and stops.
