DO I HAVE TO CYCLE THROUGH THE ETA TRAINING Routine?

PLEASE HELP!

Yes if you replace either one of these you'd need to synchronize EA.

One Always needs to go through the sync when installing a new unit.

@ this point you May need to get adaptations re-set and try again.

How?

Is the control unit simply reset by removing the power?

If I remove the power and turn it back on I hear the ETA move! After that the famous error code 2 shows up! Which is always there obviously if the ETA is shoot. However, I am on the second ETA!

Does anybody know what happens during the initiation routine?

Let me disconnect the throttle linkage and see!

This can not be rocket science..

Check upper engine wiring harness for short as from 93-95 they had the biodegradable insulation?

baudenfj 10-18-2010 09:36 PM

NO it is not the wiring Harness...

Thanks for your concerns.. but it is not the engine wiring harness! It has been replace and I checked all the connections and looked for shorts..

I keep seeing that the harness issues are for 93-95 but my 92 was fried. Of course it is the 119 400E with all the heat up there and after this many years and miles(216k) I'm not complaining. I do get a little miffed when I look at my 87 SPG and even with the turbo have no such issues though.
250k, oringinal turbo, clutch, even the water pump. She is looking a little worn though, sorry, wrong site.........I digress

It was 93 to 95 for the HFMs, which weren't made in 92, and 92 to 95 for the LHs.

92 400E is an oddball the harness issue did apply in some cases for the 119 V8's.
