Need Help Removing Wiper Mechanism

I've been trying to get to my blower motor but I can't get the wiper blade assembly out of the way. Anyone know how to remove it? The 7 screws that hold it in place are off and the whole thing is loose, but I can't find enough clearance remove it. I've been fighting with it since yesterday. Thanks!

There are nut's one of which you could possibly see n your picture, sort of under the windshield, maybe you missed them? Or does the whole thing seem loose? You might need to get the linkage in to a different position as well to get everything to clear. Which model is that, a 126 chassis?

it's a w201. All the nuts that hold the wiper assembly to the frame of the car are off. The nuts you see in the picture are part of the wiper assembly itself. The wiper arm motor is the actual component that's giving me clearance problems. Perhaps I need to detach it from the rest of the wiper assembly?

On a 201 there are two nuts one on either side of the mechanism you have to look up under there to see, if you've already removed those fine. There is a bracket at the front of that compartment which holds a plastic and metal bracket into which a prong at the bottom edge of the wiper transmission fits. You need to remove the 10 mm nut at the front firewall on the engine compartment side to free that bracket, usually then you can either pull the bracket of the prong or the prong from the not loose and unsecured bracket.

I see that you're eventually going deep for the blower motor/fan assembly, then you need to remove the panel at the front of that compartment, it's part of the engine compartment firewall. There are two plastic screws and if I remember two or four other 8 mm screws that hold that panel in place, there is a sponge weather strip along the top edge, two little spring steel clips where the two edges of sheet metal overlap on each side. If you have a tool with a 90 degree hook/bend on it's end that is the easiest way to pop the spring clips that hold the blower box together.

An early 2-wiper 201 or later monowiper?

I don't recall the 201 having 2 wipers. The early ones had a weird BLADE setup, where 2 blades were on the arm, but it was still a mono-wiper (only 1 arm)

Pretty sure that if the nuts are all off and the wiper assembly is loose, that you need to get the arm in a different position to remove it.
Have to go to work now, if you are still fighting it I'll have a look in my info discs.

Thanks for the replies- I have a later model 1992 190e 2.6 with the mono wiper blade. If you look at the picture in my post, those 3 10mm bolts are off. You also have 3 more 10mm bolts to the left of that (not visible in the picture), which I also removed. There's nothing holding that entire assembly to the vehicle now, except for an electrical wire that supplies power. The whole thing is loose, I just can't get clearance.

This picture shows the entire assembly. This is what I'm trying to remove.

Just a pain to rotate up and out, I've done it, know it fits, with the wiper still installed.

Yeah nothing in the disc to jar my memory either. You just need to pull it up over the lip of the front firewall. You can see if it'll slide left or right a little if it would help. I do remember something about replacing one of these where it helped to move the linkage, got a little more clearance.
That's all assuming that the nuts really are off.
The connector I think you need to get inside the fusebox.

That aluminum trim along the bottom of the wind shield needs to be removed, it comes off pulling it in the direction straight up off the windshield, that should give you another 1/2-3/4" of clearence, and if that is still not enough then you will need to remove the firewall panel!

I finally got it to come out! The firewall has 4 screws which i removed, opened up the firewall and got a few more inches of clearance. Ahhhh!
