Vacuum pump on a M103?
The pump looking thing above the alternator seems to have a pulley that's not turning freely. It started making a squealing noise. Now it's louder and I noticed the pulley isn't turning as fast as the other items connected to the serp belt.
Also, my aux fan doesn't seem to be coming on at lower temps resulting in temp rising to 100 at a long light. as soon as I stert moving the temp drops back to 85. Could the two be related? What is this pump thingy and can it be repaired or does it need to be replaced? BTW, it's a '90 300SE.
