W124 Door Lock problem/help
I have a '88 300TE. I was working on the wiring in the door to the Vacuum actuator. This is the driver's door.
I had a brain fart and tried to roll the window down while the plastic guard piece was rattling around loose in there. The window rolled maybe 6-8 inches down before I heard noise and said WTF! I rolled the window back up and finished the wire repair. Now checking the actuator, I can't lock the driver's door. I can turn to the unlock position, but not enough into the locked position to lock it. It tries to move but something got tweaked in the lock linkage. I can't really see anything in there. I can only feel my way into the door. Anybody have any insight into how to approach this? On a side note, the central locking system now works! EDIT: Doh! Now I feel even dumber. I forgot you can't lock the door with it open! |
