W126 wind noise

Hey guys,

So earlier this year, I replaced my windshield (It's made by PPG, apparently one of the new OEM manufacturers according to their website. Not one complaint, compared to my old Pilkington) and when they were removing the trim, I noticed there was rubber that goes between the chrome and the glass.

At speed, I can hear a light wind noise very obviously coming from the windshield, probably catching between the chrome and glass.

Does anyone know if you can purchase this rubber "gasket" or what it is even called?

Much obliged,

Carlen

You mean that weird rubber gutter thing? They should have used the old one or installed new. My windshield is not factory, but those things are in place.

It's not that rain guard under the wipers; it's under all the chrome trim that goes around the windshield. I can see parts of old deteriorating rubber hanging out from under it and I suspect that is where my noise is coming from...

I did not mean under the wipers, I was thinking on the sides. Either way, I would certainly contact the installer since it was not done right.

Oh you're talking about those side pieces of body colored trim that sort of 'hover' over the chrome trim. I'm thinking about calling them, but I seriously believe it might be the chrome's fault. I might just remove it and reinstall with something underneath it.
