W126 air conditioned doors?
Just curious as to why they have air ducts going into the doors. Stupid question, I know. But usually when I see them there are vent at the top indicating its to keep the glass clear. But I see no exit points on mine.

Comfort
This feature was introduced with the W116 if I recall correctly. The idea is that there will be a gentle amount of climate-controlled air enveloping the occupants... it emerges through the holes in the door covering.

I love that about my 83. In the winter you get soft air on your feet and soft warm air from the doors. usually the doors are the cold part in cars....not in ours :)

yep. One of my favorite things about the 126 in the winter.
Probably will also help to keep the door lock and window mechanisms from freezing in the cold German winters. DG |
