defrost fan speed

does the fan speed vary with in the defrost mode. mine is full speed all the time regardless of max, auto or min. also, what is the best way to check vacuum doors that affect the defrost, i still have cold air and need to find out how to adjust,(close the vent) when the car is warming up and/or when the outside temp is cold. this morning was -2. happy new year

Fan is in full afterburner when in defrost mode. None of the fan speed push buttons affect this setting. If you are not getting any heat, you may have to check the monovalve for function.

put in a brand new monovalve last week, but can't get the defrost vent to close when floor heat is on and defrost heat only gets so warm when full defrost. i'm looking for some temp sensor or vent door vacuum to adjust

Sounds more like a vacuum problem now. You may have to pull the ACC module to get a peak at the vacuum lines and servos, three I think  Listen for hissing that doesn't go away. Also check the feed from the engine compartment. Believe it comes off the rear of the intake manifold, but not sure.

is the acc module the same as the a/c module behind the push buttons on the console or is it somewhere else?

ACC (automatic climate control) is the guts behind the zebrano fascia in the center console. Remove the wood trim, remove the screws (4, I think, but maybe 6). Gently slide the unit out of the dash and begin to look and listen. But, I would check under the hood first to make sure all the vacuum lines are in place and intact. Do the simple stuff first..
