W126 5.6L intake rubber, gaskets to replace?

Well I have a bunch of goodies coming next week. All new rubber hoses and such for on top the intake is part of the order. Most if this stuff is rock hard now due to years of heat and oil exposure. While this will take care of the visible and easy to get to items, I am wondering if there are any things I should consider replacing on the intake manifold itself.

Dont get me wrong, I dont like tossing parts at a car for the fun of it. But I prefer peace of mind knowing something will not go sometime soon. And I noticed some a clamp and some fitting down under the idle air valve area. So I figure I may as well get to all of it by spring.

Thumbs up

The eight donut looking deals that connect the upper to lower plenums are a pain in the ass but need to be done with a 20 year old car.

Not hard, just time consuming.

Ok. I will look those parts up. I did find one part that looks sorta like a diving flipper. Round hole on one end then bends and flattens out. Looks like it connects to the idle air intake area on the intake manifold. Replace as well?

that flipper thing you see is the air flow meter boot and i replace them as a matter of routine, when the intake is off. it's probably rock hard and will fight you getting back on the throttle body. order the clamp and lock for it, also. consider the injector seals, etc., unless they're fresh and soft. the connectors for the vacuum lines on the throttle body are a pain to do while the intake's installed, so get them, too. check the throttle switch and make sure it's ok. some people replace them anyways, but i've only replaced a couple. but, that was when they didn't work and then the intake had to come off. good luck, chuck.
