W203 C320 4-matic front CV axle

I switched over to snow tires last night and noticed that my front left CV axle is shot. Has anyone replaced one of these yet? I'm curious if I need to get as involved as the WIS says - which includes loosening the lower wishbone and detaching the strut. Any thoughts from someone who has done this job?
