Pneumatic Headlight Adjustment

I'm getting ready to install euro headlights in my 190e 2.6 with the main bean adjustment. I have also purchased the needed vaccuum switch and bezel. Do I need to use a vaccuum reservoir or can I just splice into the manifold vaccuum line? Does anyone have a detailed description as to how this system gets hooked up?
