Balo Rotors

ordered Balo rotors for the rear, and they appear to be missing a hole drilled for the peg coming out of the hub. Five holes for studs, one for the allen bolt, but none for the peg from the hub.
Anyone seen this before? Is there a different part # I need to order?

Just take a hammer and knock the peg in. You ain't goin to tha moon.

Pound them in or do they unscrew off the hub?

Try unscrewing.
I know many car manufacturers have these bolts just to hold things up in the assembly line but are not necessary once the wheels are on

krjt, if it were me I would return the Balo rotors and buy new rotors that accept the hub pin. Try locating Zimmerman rotors, or simply buy replacement rotors from your local MB dealer because the price difference isn't worth the hassle you're experiencing.

I am rather surprised so few have chimed in. I couldn't believe it myself. I had the old disc off and was about to finish up when I discovered this little headache. I've spoken with a few parts house and they all said their parts, ATE, Balo all comes without the hole. I may be going to the dealer for this hunk of steel after I return the Balos.

That shouldn't be a hassle at all, and is common place in the MB brake world.

Either cut off the pin OR as earlier suggested, knock the pin OUT of the hub.

part number should be 201 423 12 12 and they should have the hole for the roll pin.

i am massively against modifying the vehicle to make the parts fit, this is a completely backwards way to look it things. besides that, i looked up these parts in several parts lookup systems and all the photos show all the correct holes, as well i have installed several sets of these recently and all the rotors had the right holes. for sure an ATE rotor will have them and other brands including zimmerman, balo and brembo should have them also. if you can get them, the ATE rotors are almost always the best bet - they are identical to genuine MB because ATE is the OEM.

ATE is not OE at all, they are made in Italy. And somewhat a poor quality!

MB makes their own brake disc's

Sorry, Mercedes used ATE for the caliper and rotor from the late '70's through the '90's. I don't know if they still do but ATE is cast right into the caliper. I believe they dabbled in other brands like Bendix but they certainly do not make their own calipers, rotors, or pads.

That being said the original ATE product would have been made to MB's specifications and standards. This may have changed as technology improves or devolves as it were to cut costs.
