500SL Euro Information
 

I have a 1985 500SL/Euro that I disassembled about eight years ago. I am finally about to get it all back together. My VIN "plate" became detached and I can't remember where it goes. This is a narrow, etched aluminum plate. Can anyone tell me where it should be re-attached (e.g. on dash, left side, inside door pilar, door jam, etc.) ?

Incidently the car really looks great. New signal red paint, all new palamino interior. Car will be for sale.

Those vin plates are usually put on during the federalization process. They are normally placed on the drivers side a-pillar.
