Lowering Transmission for repair

I have to replace the govenor drive gear on a 1991 300E 2.6. I have removed the rear transmission mount as suggested in earlier posts, but the transmission still does not drop more than an inch or more. What more needs to be done to get it to lower for better access?

Use Jack (with a 2x4 to distribute load) on the engine oil pan to raise the front of the engine up. Just watch the coolant hoses

Fan shroud out.

The 103 is pretty well balanced on the mounts without the transmission.

The transmission mount crossmember out, then the driveshaft removed and exhaust support reoved it should tip down until the cam-cover hits the firewall.

Thanks, Jeff. That was what I needed. I pick up the part today and hope to have it done by tonight.
