The standard size for a '94 E420 is 195/65R15.

Comparing the 205/65 15 = apx 2% SLOW . .
Comparing the 205/60 15 = apx 1.2% FAST . .

So the difference is 3.2% so that's why the LH mode. BOTH TIRES ARE NOT GOOD CHOICES FOR YOUR E420! You can match them (205/60-15) for the least error.

Should have chosen 205/55-16 for the LOWEST (0.4%) speedo error. Yes, new wheels are needed.

You should make sure that the chosen tire size keeps the speedo accurate. So make the calcs for yourself on the Miata Tire page here
