W126 dash light LED help needed

81 300sd lights were super dim, odometer not working and all the little annoyances, so pulled the cluster ordered the gears and replaced, decided to get some brighter bulbs. Ordered two of these

then decided since my hvac lights and etc were mostly dimmed or not working would pull and replace them, I assumed they were the same as the little lights like blinker etc behind the instruments, so I ordered these. for all the rest
HTML Code:

haven't tested in the hvac area yet, but in the gauges I can't get any of them to light up, I even plugged the larger into the battery illumination since i could see it light up. and nothing worked. I notice the little lights in the cluster appear to have wires that stick from the bottom and are slightly soldered into the terminals.
Here is a pic of the small bulbs the first is the led, then the cluster bulb then the hvac console bulbs. Help is greatly appreciated.
