2 sizes of fuel filter...which do I need? W140

I'm trying to order a fuel filter for a 1992 400SE and I can't figure out which of the two sizes I need. This is what it reads on all of the parts sites:

1ST OPTION
Optional 002 477 13 01 can still be used on early models with single fuel pump. New filter 002 477 44 01 is designed for tandem pumps where greater volume and dampening effect is needed.

2ND OPTION
Optional with 002 477 19 01. This number replaces 002 477 13 01. When replacing the old number (13 01) with this new number, (1) 124 478 04 53 spacer tube is required. You may continue to use 002 477 13 01 without any modification as long as it remains available from the manufacturer(s). Requires (1) 124 478 04 53 spacer tube.

I have 2 fuel pumps, so we can agree from the 1ST OPTION statement that I need the 002 477 44 01. This filter is 82mmX128mm and is bigger than the current one in the vehicle, which is 75mmX110mm and listed in 2ND OPTION as 002 477 19 01, which matches my chassis range.

So basically I concluded that both are for the vehicle as 1ST OPTION says it’s for tandem pumps, which I have, and this is the larger filter, while the 2ND OPTION is matching my chassis number, and is the smaller filter, which is currently installed in the vehicle with the spacer tube that it refers to.

Anyone else come across this similar dilemma? Could the wrong one be in the vehicle now? Should I order the larger filter or stick with the smaller one?
