92 400e 124 steering lock question

I removed a lock tumbler that was stuck by cutting off the collar and drilling very carefully so as not to damage the tumbler housing. I was then able to get the tumbler to position 1 and remove it using a 2mm wire tool. When I got the lock to position 1 and 2 the steering lock wouldn't release. I guess it is now time to remove the steering lock. Have I inadvertently caused the locking pin to get locked, by twisting the cylinder to start? If I remove the airbag to get the wheel off can I reuse it? Also there is a transmission cable attached. Is it possible to release the transmission lock so the car can be rolled? Finally can I remove the steering lock? I would appreciate any advice I could get here as this forum seems to have the skilled posters. Thanks
