94 Wagon: Code 26 Repair/Transmission Service
I've been driving with a Code 26 (upshift delay) for several years now. I consider the CEL an irritant, nothing else (but don't want to miss any additional codes that come up). Since it'll soon be time for a transmission service, what's the additional labor involved to replace the shift solenoid, since it has to be opened up any way? Not going to do this one myself.

On that car, code 26 means that the 2-3 shift is not being delayed properly when the engine is cold,
Most likely a vacuum loss in that system.

Hey Doc - thanks. I tested the vacuum (green tube behind the brake booster) and it wouldn't hold. Thought that meant the code was a faulty shift solenoid?
