Problem with Climate Control
 

My buddy's 1997 C230 climate control will not work when he first starts up car. Everything lights up but no fan. After driving for a wile the fan will come on and climate control will work fine. When he turns off car and starts up again, fan will not work for a wile. Fan is not making any strange noise or fading in and out. When my fan was going in me 300sd and 300cd, it would slow down and speed up and make strange noises. His does not act like fan is failing. I know the wiring harness's in this model of car is problematic. I looked over most of the wires and seams to be in perfect shape. Not like my 94 C280 :(. What can I test/check? Not having defrost on those rainy days is driving him nuts.

the harness issue was solved in 96. maybe the controller is bad. need a way to catch it when the ac comes on. good luck, chuck.
