Well, I am now a member of the group, that has had their hood emblem ripped off. On my '91 190e that it happened to I have a question or two. First the whole unit is gone, and can it be removed all in one piece somehow? There is no damage to the top of the grill or anything, and, also, there was none of the bottom parts of the star under the hood or anyplace inside. Secondly, to replace them do you put them in all in one piece or do you have to assemble them together? TIA.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Unfortunately, the world is full of *********s and one of them happened by your 190E. The good news is that the hood star comes as one complete assembly and is quite easy to install.

Also if you keep a spare, the star on your car will probably never be taken.
