W126 AC Oil quantity check?

All

I am attempting to bring my AC back to life on the W126 89 300SE with a Denso 10P15C Compressor. I have it all dissassembled, flushed (except the muffler) and will be putting it back together with a new compressor, receiver/dryer, sensors on receiever/dryer and expansion valve. I am keeping the system R12 2.9 Lbs and I am using Mineral oil. I have been searching for a quantity. I found a link in the forums that inidcated 7.75 Oz total oil for the system. Is that the correct total ammount for this system?
W126 manual stated to put 120CC or roughly 4OZ in the compressor.
I will then need to distribute the rest of the oil to the Evaporator, Condensor and Receiver/Dryer.

Does the total of 7.75OZ sound correct. The info is from a Napa Cooling Belts and hoses catalog Found the link in the forum and also googled it. http://www.napabeltshose.com/downloads/download_common.cfm?file=NapaCapacityGuide2-8-05.pdf&folder=news&view=napa_hc

Thanks!

Yes, sounds fine. I usually do 8oz as I spill some and a bit is always left in the container.

Make sure the aux fan(s) work...

Thanks Hitman

Thanks, Forgot to mention the new aux fan I am installing as well. The old one had a bad bearing. Got the ACM from Phil. Also gives me the opportunity to clean all the dead bugs out from between the fan and the Condensor.

Coincidently the summer we are having so far is very cool. LOL Would be the year I choose to dump $$ into the AC!

Since the system is open, I would just remove the condenser so you can REALLY clean it. I blast them out from the radiator side with a pressure washer.

Pick up a comb too, they are about $6 at Harbor Freight. Straighten the fins after you spend a few hours picking the bugs and rocks out. This is by far one of the most tedious operations I have ever performed.

The time spent is worth it.

OH - Buy a can of this for the car too. Helps clean out the evap core without removal.
