I just thought I'd share those pics with everyone . Everyone has their own preference. I don't like all of them personally.

Out of curiousity, how do you like your 300 se?
How's the reliability? I'm interested in buying one and maybe you may know this....what is the difference between the KE III and KE-5 engines?

Thanks in advance

The 300SE is a reliable car. 1989.
Somebody has a current post on the subject.
If you do a SEARCH on the subject, you'll get alot of info.

I don't know about KE- engines. (?)

Well, doing any of this would probably kill your resale. And as to the financial cost, I can't really see it making sense.

My 1998 C230 is worth about $30K retail. A new C240 would run me about $42K. I can see the transformation kit adding up to at least $5-6K. Now I have a $36K 1998 C230 that's probably worth $25K. This body update set me back $11K. Take the money, and buy a new C240.

Oh my!!!

I prefer to leave my benz in its intended state! (IMHO)

Gotta give credit to those chaps for the effort though, wonder would the cars be filled with lots of bondo? (Especially the W140)

I rather save my pennies and buy the real thing. ;)

Uhhh. . . .

They look like Dodge--I mean Daimler-Chrysler--Neons, or a fish that was squeezed too hard ;)

Isn't this what Mbenz does to his cars? I suppose if you're gonna keep your car for years on end like any true Mercedes owner would, *ahem* you might consider spending a little bit here and there for cosmetic updates.

umm... er... ah....

Ooh! FrankenCars!

Plus the cost of shipping the car to Belgium. Big bucks for body work in my opinion.

Can these cars possibly still maintain all the original safety features? Especially crumple zones? I think that alone would scare me away from these.

Benzie 01-25-2002 11:33 PM

The structure may actually be stronger now that it has a brick of a bondo pasted on it.... just like a arm in a cast....

Heh!!
