2003 E320 rear suspension is ruff...

Something is not right with my rear suspension on my 2003 E 320 fourmatic wagon, if rides quite rigid and ruff, I read something about the suspension pods need to be checked. can someone let me know how to test the rear suspension/pods and a link how to maintain or change them, Thanks gang..
