Headlight washers are leaking
My headlight washers drip for a few hours after I use them, is there a one way check valve in the plumbing?

Drip drip drip drip drip????

I just confirmed what the problem is. I found a check valve for the headlight washers, just behind the left headlight. I removed it and hooked up a squit bottle to the single line going in. When I raised the bottle so that it was higher than the check valve, I watched the two exit lines and only one was dripping. Voila, it was the side that went to my left headlamp washer that was leaking.
Just for kicks & giggles I reversed the exiting lines to the headlamp washer and now the right side leaks. I looked the part up and it retails for $4.95. I hope this thread will help others in the future! |
JCE,
Thanks for your message you sent me. I actually had those seals goe south this summer and replaced them as well. Hi CJ: My wiper/washer assemblies started to drip when the seals in the little pump motor started to go bad. Also had some mineral build up in the tank and lines - I wound up just removing the washer system when I installed Euro lights.
