monovalve replacement
Hi.
I replaced the monovalve in my 89 420SEL (112K on it) this weekend and I took it out for a short drive afterwards. The next day I noticed the car had leaked coolant (it did eventually stop because most of the puddle had evaporated). So it appears that I did something wrong in the replacement. Would anyone be able to tell me how to be certain to be sure the valve is replaced & seated properly? TIA, Clay |
leaking?
i believe you're all right. mine did the same thing, as it leaked when i changed the monovalve. just refill the antifreeze and see what happens. good luck

I changed mine Saturday and it only leaked what was in the hoses once I took it out, no leaks after wards.
I would go back and check all hoses and make sure they are on securely and tight, make sure you push the hose until it stops. |
I know that the coolant on the floor earlier did not leak out "while" I was changing the valve. It leaked out after the car was driven. Anyway, I took the car for a spin yesterday and let it sit overnight just as before....but it didn't leak. Weird. :D
 I'm going to keep an eye on it though. Thanks everyone! Clay |
