Taking blower motor out thru dash?

I have a 1980 300sd 116 body style. I am trying to find out if the blower motor can be taken out thru the glove box opening or do I have to drop it below which requires a lot of dismantling? Thank you

Thank you. I did not want to take anything extra apart as I always wind up with extra parts. By any chance do you know of a source for those plastic rivets?
