300te - how much trouble to replace parking pin in trans?
How much trouble is it to replace the pin that keeps the car from rolling while in park? I heard on Fords they are a PITA. What about on the 300te 1993?

its not really a pin but a lever with a metal tooth on it. It can be done with the trans in the car but the drive shaft needs to be disconnected, rear yoke removed, support cross member removed, then the tail housing of the trans needs to come off, the Speedo gear/pickup wheel and parking prawl are inside this space.
Is your shifter loose? Does it engage at all or does it skip?

I's a vehicle that I'm considering buying. 1993 300te 4matic, but the 4matic doesn't work, the parking prawl is obviously busted, and the windshield has a crack. Good news is that I have every part possible needed to fix, as I just finished parting out my old 300te that someone felt they needed the cat's more than I did. (along with a bunch of other problems with the car.)
