Monowiper trouble- please help

I know that my control stalk (wiper, turn signal, high beam) on the left side is going.

Today, the monowiper started wiping really slowly and not going back to the proper resting position when off.

Is it possible that this condition is due to the faulty control stalk or something else?

I've purchased the control stalk from Phil Rheinhart and have it on hand to install.

Does anyone know if this sounds like the actual wiper motor might need replacing as well?

Opinions appreciated. Thx

I wonder if the motor and gearcase is full of dried up grease?

If you haven't greased the wiper recently, now would probably be a good time before it seizes up completely and takes out the gear.

OK I am going to take the morning off to address this problem. i will change the stalk and see if i can re-grease the monowiper somehow.

It's a safety issue that needs to be addressed

Wouldnt bother changing the stalk, the wiper arm needs lub rication, no reason to take the day off, 30 minute repair

Success!

I am not sure exactly what I did but it works now.

I took the whole thing out and lubed up the joints. Also the bolt that secures the wiper arm to the panoramic device was missing. I don't know it that was the original problem but I don't care.

It works now and thanks to all who chimed in. Much appreciated

Disassemble the wiper assembly and lube it. Lubriplate white grease seems to work the best.
