Engine Wire Harness Compatablity 92 400E and 94 E420 ??
 

Hey Guys; Will the upper engine wire harness from a 1992 400E (part# 124 543 88 32) properly fit into a 1994 E420 (part # 124 440 19 06) ?? Neither car has the ASR.... AND did the 1992 model year wire harness have the same wire degradation issue as the later years (93,94,95) ?? Found a 92 at local pic A part and want o grab wire harness as a backup AND because my 94 with 200,000 Still has original harness. Please advise And THANKS in advance........Chance

I replaced my 1995 e320 wagon main wiring harness. Took about 2 hrs being careful doing one plug at a time. I think I had to go underneath the car for one or two of the plugs.

So...my wagon model year had two different wiring harnesses (one had 22 plugs and other had 24). SO unless the place had a good return policy, I would not not do it. It took me 2 weeks to figure out the right part number even. But Phil and this forum helped out a ton. Once you have the right part...it's pretty easy.
