I was just bout to remove the blower motor when I went to disconnect the electrical and I found my problem.. The thing is I'm not sure if i can get a new end for the wires... but even worse HOW THE HELL.. do I change the base terminal that the wires plug into??? HELP!!!!!! HELPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE! |
Sounds like a bad blower regulator. New one will have a fresh connector. I have one :)

see that is the part that goes from the motor to a mounted unit that the end of the black cable plugs into.. I will probably need both.
I just dont see how to replace the plug. |
So what is that bigger piece with all the prongs on it?

When it goes out, the blower either goes on full blast, or not at all. |
when it was working the blower was always on but not full blast. I could adjust the force of the blower. Then the plug in the pic melted.

I would check the fuses to make sure nobody put a higher amp fuse than allowed.
That blower voltage regulator adjust blower speeds to keep a consistant temp in the cabin. Try changing the voltage regulator, check the fuses, and report back. |
You also might want to go ahead and pull the blower then give it a spin and see if the bearings are getting hard to turn. This can cause the motor to pull more amps than it's supposed to. Normally this would blow the fuse, but if someone put in a bigger one, I could see the fault you have happening.

I mis-read mine. I thought it read 80amp, so that is what I put in! It should be a 30 in my case. Someone may have done the same with yours.

The fuse is not blown. I exposed the motor and the plastic spindles spin freely. The part that relay plugs into close to the firewall melted...
Any suggestions on that? will the part you have avalible fit my 1986 300E?? thanks! |
