W211 Homelink Buttons
This is a low priority issue for me. While visiting a friend recently I tried to program another garage door opener button on her 2005 E500. It would have been useful to her for just a few weeks.
I was able to successfully program her first button to two different rolling code garage door openers, so I know how to do it. But I could not do anything with the second and third buttons (other than clearing out the memory by holding the third and first buttons simultaneously). The LED does not light at all when the second or third buttons are pushed. Is this the type of thing that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes might fix, or is this more likely to be a problem with the buttons themselves, or perhaps a computer somewhere? She is the original owner, and I am confident that the second and third buttons have never been programmed before, and are thus unlikely to have been worn out or abused in some way. I didn't see anything helpful on homelink.com.
